Little Holly's Big Book Club: Very Bad Blogger

Alright, my lovely friends, I have a confession: I didn't finish this month's book selection.

In my defense, September just sort of slipped past this year, didn't it? I found myself reading #GIRLBOSS, then Joan River's last book (I am still stunned by her tragic passing), then celebrating my birthday, then re-watching The Good Wife on Amazon Prime, and, long story short, suddenly it's October 1st and I have not read Travels With Charley!

So, to make it up to you, I have decided to extend the book club for one extra month! I sort of meant to include this title in the first place, but I thought including John Steinbeck would make me seem smart and thoughtful, so I left it off. I have been hearing a lot about this title in the months since, though, and I feel like this is the perfect opportunity to add it back to the list!

The similarly titled Travels With Casey, by New York Times Magazine writer Benoit Denizet-Lewis, also chronicles the author's journey across America with his pup, this time a 9-year-old lab mix named Casey. The story promises a look into America's relationship with dogs, and a cast of characters both human and canine sure to speak to any dog lover.

So be sure to read along and let me know what you think! And if you read Travels With Charley, let me know what you think of that too. It's still on my nightstand, with my pitiful bookmark 50 pages in, begging me to pick it back up!

Until Next Time, Darlings!

    1. An uplifting story does sound great, right? I will confess, I had heard something happened to Charley in Travels With Charley, and I think that might have been part of the reason I couldn't bring myself to finish that book. Here's hoping this one has a happy ending!
